{stitching hope | sewing tomorrow} is a story installation by collaborative artist & writer Angelina Bellebuono, documenting the PALS of Athens Musicians project (www.palsofathensmusicians.org), an outreach effort of the Athens, Ga.-based non-profit, Women to the World.

I am a collaborative artist. My background as a writing teacher and then as a journalist and photographer enables me to incorporate a variety of techniques in my storygathering and storytelling process.

For this project, I attended the PALS sewing group on Monday evenings, and then added volunteering and teaching on Thursdays. In spending time with the women in the setting of sewing, learning and sharing, I was humbled by the richness and beauty of their stories and their hearts.

The show {stitching hope | sewing tomorrow} is my interpretation of the women and their work in the PALS of Athens Musicians project told through story poems, photography and collaborative art. In this body of work, I have attempted to illuminate and pay homage to the moments that comprise the PALS project, while celebrating the art and the journey of the women served by this outreach.

I sincerely thank you for your support in the collaborative efforts of making a difference in our world.
